Why do I need voluntary petition after discharge?

It is your responsibility to notify discharge to the appropriate people and credit bureaus. The Court Clerk's Office will send discharge order copy to all the creditors that are listed in the petition of the bankruptcy by means of a notice within 20-40 days. You may also need voluntary petition file while applying for FHA loans, VA loans, SBA loans, some security clearances, fresh mortgage and credit report update. Most often needed when trying to get a mortgage, conducting credit repair, and stopping harassing phone calls from debt collectors. You should retain a copy of complete bankruptcy case file. The complete bankruptcy file includes the Voluntary Petition, all Schedules, Reaffirmation Agreements, the Discharge, and any other documents available on record.
